THE STORY OF BETWEEN FIRE AND SILENCE
BETWEEN FIRE AND SILENCE was one of my earliest works, and also the first time black entered my language in such a decisive way. Until then, my paintings had often searched for light through other paths, but this piece was different. It was born from a place where intensity and restraint existed together, where emotion was strong, yet often unspoken.
The title came naturally: Between Fire and Silence. Because that is where I felt I had lived for so long. There has been a great deal of fire in my life, passion, tension, sensitivity, force, and just as much silence. A silence that, too often when I was younger, stayed with me through difficult moments. A silence that protected, but also concealed.
And then there is the gold. For me, it is not decoration. It is the spark that survives. It is the trace of light that refuses to disappear completely. Even when silence seems to take over, something within still burns, still trembles, still asks to be seen. Those golden marks are the proof that silence is never truly empty. It still carries heat, memory, and life.
I do not want to decide what someone else should see in this work. Each person may feel something different within it. But I know where it came from. It came from the meeting point between what burns inside us and what we never say aloud. That is why this work remains so important to me. It holds both the quiet and the spark.
