ABOUT ELARA TRACE

I grew up in a home where art was part of everyday life. My mother and grandmother painted, and from an early age I discovered that colors could express emotions long before words ever could. Like many people, my family story was not a straight line. Life shaped me through changes, absences and experiences that taught me to look at the world with greater sensitivity. Rather than defining me, they encouraged me to search for my own voice. For years, I wasn’t interested in simply painting. I wanted to create a language that belonged only to me. Over time, I began to see my own body as part of the artwork itself. People often complimented my feet. It was something that always made me smile, until one day a simple thought changed everything: Why use a brush when I could paint with a part of myself? That question became the beginning of my artistic journey. Today, every painting starts with direct contact between my body and the canvas. Every footprint captures a real movement. Every mark preserves a unique moment that can never be repeated in exactly the same way. Alongside painting, music has always been another essential part of who I am. I have loved singing since I was a child, and I believe that a voice can paint emotions just as powerfully as color. Some of my works are created while I sing, allowing movement, sound and paint to merge into a single creative act. I don’t create art to surprise people. I create it to leave something authentic behind, to remind us that every human being hopes to leave a trace of their existence. Every artist leaves a signature. I choose to leave a footprint.
