THE STORY OF THE TREE OF HOPE

THE TREE OF HOPE was born from a place in my memory that has never been entirely simple. As a child, some parts of my world were full of color, warmth and wonder. Others felt quieter, heavier, almost as if they belonged to a different version of life, one made of shadows, silences and things I was too young to fully understand.

Growing up changed the way I looked at those memories. What once felt divided between color and darkness slowly began to make sense in a different way. Maturity did not erase what had been difficult, but it gave me the ability to look at it with new eyes. I started to understand that even the parts of our past that hurt us can become part of something larger, something that helps us see beauty more clearly.

That is why I called this work THE TREE OF HOPE. For me, the tree became a symbol of everything that continues to grow despite what came before. Its colors are not about forgetting the darker moments. They are about choosing to let light exist beside them. They are about reaching a point in life where the world no longer feels divided in two, but begins to open again, slowly, vividly, almost unexpectedly.

I don’t want to decide what this work should mean to someone else. Perhaps another person will see childhood, resilience, rebirth, memory or simply joy. What matters to me is that this painting was born from the moment I realized I could finally look at my own story and see more color than darkness. Maybe that is what hope really is: not denying what happened, but allowing something beautiful to grow from it.
